The cover of the book on the topic of training in hockey

author: Vlady Zankavets
published: May, 2014
category: Sport
pages: 160

The book focuses attention on off-ice training in hockey. It would seem that so much has already been written, how can this work differ favorably from other books? The main feature of this work is that it is written primarily not for S&C coaches, but for active hockey players (although the former will certainly be able to benefit from reading). Its undoubted advantage is that it was created based on the analysis of scientific works by leading scientists from different countries: the USA, Canada, Russia, Belarus, and other. During the work on the book, the author, through live communication and questionnaires, adopted the experience of more than 100 coaches of the NHL, AHL, KHL, National teams and other top European and Asian championships. The professional career of a hockey player in the past and the current position of head S&C coach of one of the KHL teams provided the author with a unique opportunity not only to communicate with hockey players, scouts and other hockey specialists, but also to see this game from the inside every day and let it all pass through himself.
Despite the scale of the information received, this publication reflects all the basic principles of the author:

  1. "Brevity is the soul of wit". Indeed, the book turned out to be compact - only 160 pages! And this is despite the fact that:
  2. The font should be large;
  3. The book must include a sufficient number of illustrations.
  4. Writing style should be easy to read and understandable to everyone.

This work will be interesting and useful to everyone who is passionate about sports and is looking for ways to improve themselves. Enjoy the book!

Testimonials

Vyacheslav Makritsky

Head S&C Coach of the "Avangard" Omsk (KHL, Russia)

"The Encyclopedia of Testing is a very cool book that contains the most relevant tests for hockey and other sports. Personally, this book helped me determine the battery of tests for the season, since in the modern world there is not much useful information in this area, especially filtered and collected in one place"

Ilya Yakovlev

Development Coach of the "Ak Bars" Kazan (KHL, Russia)

"I've read the book If you want to retire from hockey - destroy your body twice. It is very easy to read. All information is easy to remember. After completing each chapter, you realize how much knowledge you have acquired. I am sure the book will bring a lot of benefits to both coaches and active athletes"

Bogdan Rybachuk

Assistant coach of the "Dynamo-Molodechno" (Betera-Extraleague, Belarus)

"After reading the book, you will raise your knowledge in the field of testing athletes to a higher level. Its author, Vlady Zankavets, has very competently and informatively packed into 456 pages all possible tests that are used in hockey. Everything is sorted into sections, each test is described in detail. It doesn't matter if you are a peewee coach or a coach of a professional team, you will find a lot of new and useful information. Also it is worth noting that there are very few such books in the post-Soviet space, so the value of this book increases several times. Thanks for the work!"

Anatoly Kasatkin
