In-season performance monitoring

In-season performance monitoring

Based on our technical capabilities (see the previous post), on the game days we collect CMJ hight (80 min prior the game) and max speed (during the game). The regular season in the KHL is divided into 4 stages to 2 months each. Tracking the above mentioned indicators within the competition stage allows us to put assumptions regarding physical fitness and conditions of our athletes and, if necessary, adjust the training process.

The direction of the trend line reflects positive, neutral, or negative results trajectory (dynamics).

We consider the negative performance trajectory combined with biochemical markers exceeding the norm values as a sign of overtraining. For these athletes we decrease the training load and provide strategies stimulating recovery.

In cases when the negative performance trajectory is combined with the biochemical markers within the norm values, we view the training process as not efficient and modify it.

Thank you!
