Highlights of the Training Mesocycle 1 of the Off-Season

🦵🏻At this stage, we focus on the development of the first two steps power and isometric strength endurance.

🏃‍♂️First steps power is a safe and efficient way to stimulate improvements in speed-strength abilities. One of the objectives of this kind of training is to apply a lot of force to the ground, which will improve one’s performance on-ice⛸ [1].

🏋🏻‍♂️Isometric training is efficient for strength endurance gains [2], muscle hypertrophy [3], changes in muscle architecture [3], and increases in tendon stiffness and length [3]. The gradual transition from isometric training at short muscle lengths to long muscle lengths leads to the greatest positive effects [3].

Thank you!
