β›ΉπŸ»β€β™‚οΈA great time of thinking outside of the box with the top basketball club Unics Kazan

I’m grateful to the Head of Performance, Dusko Markovic πŸ‡·πŸ‡Έ; physiotherapists, Haris Glaros πŸ‡¬πŸ‡· and Konstantinos Samaras πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·(photo 1); for letting me be a part of their team for 2 microcycles, candid conversations, and a great learning experience! During that time I was able to get acquainted with their as well as with the head coach’s (Velimir Perasovic πŸ‡πŸ‡·) leadership styles, by observing pre-training and pre-game warm-ups, practices, post-game recovery sessions on the court, strength workouts, and individual rehab and prehab routine in the gym. In our free time, we had the opportunity to talk about how to treat the adductor muscles, hip flexors, and hip joints in hockey, as well as how to treat the ankle, knee, and shoulder in basketball.

This trip was made possible thanks to my friend and the team leader of the KHL Ak Bars πŸ’πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ί, Renat Shermanov, who in addition made my leisure time very active (photo 2).

I am also grateful to Roman Lavrov, my friend, coach of the basketball club Astana πŸ‡°πŸ‡Ώ, and the main authority for me in the πŸ€ world, who recommended I look after the coaches of Unics in action (photo 3). I'm glad that we had a two-day meeting in Kazan to talk about a variety of performance-related concerns.
